First step into the workplace after university
Our Graduate Management Development Programme is designed to give people the confidence they need when taking that first step into employment. The year-long placement is fully paid and is cleverly structured to allow experience in each area of our business. This helps new graduates gain fresh skills on a variety of projects, work with senior members of the team, collaborate with our international offices, and attend valuable training courses.
The chance to play a key role in the growth of an innovative, dynamic company where you'll be given real responsibilities and contact with real customers outside of the office, such as attending events and meeting suppliers.
Joining the programme with other like-minded graduates for a shared experience. Opportunities for international travel and work outside of the UK, using any language skills.
Flexible working model designed to offer a permanent role at the end with a wide variation of departments to work in, including account management, marketing, and operations.
Gaining valuable experience to discover where your passions lie including product and management training as well as mentoring from senior executives.
Competitive starting salary, healthy work-life balance with blending working with opportunities to take ownership of projects such as joining the social committee to help plan company get-togethers.
Your first few months
Part of our selection process is to integrate people into our business as quickly and as smoothly as possible. Everyone has an induction programme to introduce them to all parts of our business and to understand different roles and responsibilities. A thorough induction is key to retaining our people and helping them to be effective at work.
Joshua Spiller
APAC Country Lead
“I was not sure what area I wanted to go into and it offered a wide range of roles. I also wanted to join a smaller organisation to feel that the work I was doing was making a direct impact.”
James Wake
Senior Service Delivery Manager, JOSCAR community, UK
“During my time on the programme, I was able to attend numerous events relating to the Defence and Aerospace Industry, including the Farnborough Air Show. This let me better understand the industry that I was working within and see the outputs of my work through face-to-face interactions with buyer and supplier organisations.”
Daniel Wright
Business Development Manager, FSQS Community, Spain
"The opportunity to spend 5 weeks working in the Madrid office as part of my third rotation stands out. It was an amazing chance to really get to know a new country and only served to reinforce my desire to pursue a permanent role in the Spanish team.”
Ethan Mclellan
Service Delivery Manager, FSQS Community, UK
“I've gained hands-on industry experience, contributed to key projects, seen my work's results through direct client and supplier engagement, and even supported leadership through tasks like notetaking at senior management team meetings. I also played a role in exploring the development of an Employer Volunteer Programme, giving me the opportunity to contribute to initiatives with wider organisational impact.”
Abbi O'Flanagan
Service Delivery Manager, JOSCAR Community, UK
“I feel so lucky to be part of this wonderful team at Hellios, with incredible learning opportunities - including helping to organise a two-day residential for the senior management team at Cumberland Lodge.”
Joshua Handy
Service Delivery Manager, FSQS community, UK
"I have learned a wide range of valuable new skills and developed practical working experience that will stay with me for years to come, including attending and taking minutes at a Board meeting in the absence of the Company Secretary."
Alisha Arora
Graduate, 2025
“I’ve loved my time on the graduate scheme so far! Everyone has been so friendly, supportive, and always willing to help, making it such a great environment to learn and grow. I’ve really enjoyed being trusted with different responsibilities, particularly having the opportunity to help plan and attend JOSCAR Live. That experience allowed me to develop new skills, build confidence, and gain a better understanding of how the business supports the wider Defence supply chain.”
Jamie Brew
Graduate, 2025
“The Hellios Graduate Scheme has given me access to a wide range of opportunities that are only possible within an SME, and my professional development has been so much richer for it! I have worked first hand with the Senior Management Team and helped develop our core product in new and emerging communities around the world. The rotational structure has enabled me to gain a deep understanding of all aspects of Hellios’ business, as well as the Financial Services and Defence sectors."
Ella Hamilton
Graduate, 2025
“Studying a broad subject at university meant that, after graduating, I wasn’t entirely sure which direction I wanted to take professionally. What really stood out to me about the Graduate Development Programme at Hellios was the opportunity to rotate between departments and properly understand where my strengths lie. Since joining, I have already had the chance to be involved in a variety of experiences, including JOSCAR Live, hosted by Hellios. Being part of that event, in the Service Delivery Manager role, helped me grow in confidence and develop important professional skills that you can’t always learn from behind a desk. One of the things I’ve appreciated most is the level of trust and visibility you’re given. In each team, you’re trusted with meaningful work, and your contributions don’t just disappear into the background. You can see the impact of what you’re working on, which makes the experience both motivating and rewarding. Joining Hellios has been an opportunity to broaden my skill set, gain hands-on experience across different business areas, and develop within a supportive environment where your growth is encouraged."
Michael Mackenzie-Crooks
Graduate, 2025
“The exposure I’ve gained through the graduate programme has helped me build a diverse skill set while continuing to learn in a supportive and welcoming environment. From the outset, I was trusted with meaningful responsibility, including the chance to work closely with senior management team and gain a clear understanding of how the business operates at every level."

Where are they now?
Our Graduate Management Programme is designed to build future leaders - and our graduates are already making their mark across the organisation and internationally.
Since completing the programme in 2021, Joshua has progressed to APAC Country Lead, focused on growing Hellios’ presence in Hong Kong. He is working closely with customers to build a new FSQS community and establish a regional office, drawing on his UK experience managing customer relationships, leading community-wide projects, and helping organisations maximise membership value.
James joined Hellios’ Graduate Programme in 2021, progressing into a Service Delivery Manager role within the JOSCAR team. In November 2024, he was promoted to Senior Service Delivery Manager, leading client working groups and supporting colleagues. He also achieved a Level 3 ILM certification. James credits the programme with giving him early responsibility, industry exposure, and rapid career progression.
Abbi joined Hellios in September 2025 as a Service Delivery Manager within the JOSCAR team. She quickly established herself as a trusted partner to customers, demonstrating strong programme knowledge and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. Her impact has already been recognised externally, with particularly positive feedback from the key customers she manages, highlighting the quality of her support and engagement.
