Who is Nuffield Technologies?

Nuffield Technologies is a UK-based SME delivering secure digital solutions across four core capabilities: rugged mobile hardware procurement, enterprise mobility management, field service data capture applications, and bespoke software development.

They design and deploy resilient mobile, web, and desktop applications for regulated and security-sensitive environments, particularly within Defence and other critical sectors.

Alongside software development, Nuffield Technologies also provides sustainable mobile device procurement and lifecycle management. Its approach prioritises long-lived hardware, repair-first processes, and responsible disposal, helping organisations reduce electronic waste and extend the lifecycle of essential mobile technology.

A structured approach to ESG and supplier assurance

Following engagement at JOSCAR Live, Nuffield Technologies used the JOSCAR questionnaire as a structured framework to review and benchmark its existing practices against buyer expectations.

By mapping the questionnaire into an internal assessment, the organisation identified where it already met requirements and where improvements could be made.

This process supported the strengthening of governance frameworks, refinement of internal policies, enhanced supplier due diligence, and increased staff awareness of ESG responsibilities.

Sustainability Analysis also prompted the introduction of new KPIs to measure building energy use, cloud infrastructure consumption, and travel emissions.

Driving measurable improvement and certification success

These metrics are now helping establish a baseline and support continuous improvement through the organisation’s ISO 14001 environmental management system.

More broadly, the structured approach has supported Nuffield Technologies’ wider certification journey, contributing to the achievement of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001.
