MOD, the 7th purchaser to join JOSCAR

16 Oct 2018

We are pleased to advise you that the Ministry of Defence have recently agreed to become the seventh purchaser using JOSCAR as a tool to support the Ministry’s 3rd party risk management processes. The Ministry of Defence will have visibility of any suppliers already registered on JOSCAR either at Stage 1 or Stage 2.

We have taken steps to amend the system to ensure that questions which are specific to existing JOSCAR buyer organisations will remain as only visible to the users of those organisations. The MoD will be unable to view this information.

Suppliers who have already completed the JOSCAR process for existing customers, or are in the process of completion, will not have to take any further action to be visible to the MoD but may wish to check whether their record needs amendment prior to it becoming available to the MoD. Suppliers may update their record free of charge.

The concept of JOSCAR was always it being a collective system where suppliers completed and maintain a single profile which is shared by their major customers in the aerospace, defence and security sectors, in order to reduce the duplication of effort and cost associated with qualification and compliance. We are delighted that this vision is now being more fully realised.

In accordance with our standard terms, we are giving your company advanced notice of the change and no information will be made available to the Ministry of Defence until 29th October 2018. Suppliers who either wish to amend their record or discuss with Hellios should therefore take action prior to this date.  Please visit or call 01865 959110 for more details.

We hope you will join us in welcoming the Ministry of Defence to the JOSCAR solution and in taking this as an opportunity to gain greater visibility in the aerospace, defence and security sectors through the JOSCAR system.
